A 3 day retreat is a short yet meaningful break that renews the mind, body, and soul. It generally includes sessions of yoga, meditation practice, mindfulness exercise, nature walks or a workshop on self-improvement.
It is commonly called a "yoga retreat," but in Sanskrit, it may be known as a "Yoga Shivir" or "Yoga Ashram Program." The name would depend on the location or style of the retreat.
The food during a yoga retreat is mainly sattvic, which according to yogic philosophy is a diet that promotes purity, balance, and clarity of mind. This means plant-based food prepared from fresh, organic, and locally sourced products.
Common diets feature fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and herbal teas. Meals are balanced toward nourishment rather than consumption of overly processed, spicy, or heavy food that would hamper clarity of the mind or body energy. Most retreats can adapt diets to include vegan, gluten-free, or lactose-free.
We have some of the most experienced and knowledgeable in the world. They have dedicated their lives to the study and practice of yoga, and they are passionate about sharing their knowledge with others.
